Report a Lost or Found Pet in Chatham County, GA

You can report a lost or found pet by completing the form below. We request that you please attach a clear photograph of the animal if possible as this helps tremendously.

This report acts as the official notification to the County and starts the 5 day stray hold for both found cats and dogs. Found dogs and cats can be kept at the home of the person who found them provided a found pet report is filed and they actively search for owner. When filling out the report please specify if the pet is microchipped as staff will try to track down the owner in cases where microchips are unregistered. If the microchip is not registered, it is still possible for Animal Services to track down the owner as certain agencies have access to more information regarding microchips than the general public. At the end of the 5-day hold, the animal may be re-homed.

Both Lost and Found pets will be listed on the Chatham 90 Lost Pets Page or Found Pets Page (not in shelters) for 7 days. Instructions for extending the listings will be in the confirmation email you receive.

Select "Lost Pet" below if it is your pet that is missing. Select "Found Pet" if you have a pet in your possession that is not yours. Please do not use this form to report animals at-large (roaming, in the street etc.) - call Animal Services at (912) 652-6575 to report at-large pets.
